[Lady of Lore]: 394.If I were an Elemental
Rating: 0.00
I, Naia moved through the water. Through the water and with the water. Its flow was my flow. Its pulse was my pulse. If I stretched my arms and spread my fingers, ripples come into existence. If I kicked my legs, small waves lapped the side of the pool in which I resided. I, Naia was water as water was I, bound together forever as we always had been.
As a water elemental I had the duty of caring for the plants that grew around my cove. Every dawn I would rise with froth and shimmering waves from the pool to shake my long emerald locks, showering the plants with nourishing beads of life. If I moved to the shore to brush a hand over the trees the water strained to follow. Or, at times, the water moved with the wind or the pull of the moon and I followed. It was impossible to tell where one started and the other ended. We were one as they always had been.
On the clear nights the heavens told me stories of the ages with their twinkling lanterns high up in the sky and I would reflect back to them the stories of stars that came before. If the moon paused over me pool I would kindly still the waters so the moon could admire herself in it's still surfaces.
Water was I and I was water, bound together always.
I was ageless, as ageless as water wich covered the earth once in my lifetime. Once when nymphs, niads, and selkies all danced together as part of one great water, before the world separated its water and I, Naia, was left alone in my pool to care for the grotto. No fish resided in the pool, nor did insects use it as a breeding ground. Nature regarded my pool with reverance and I and Nature nurtured one another in peace.
I was water and the water was me, bound together for eternity.
